The Dancing Nikita Company provide short-term courses in the following subjects:

Kathak dance - Classical Indian dance from North India. Beginners-Intermediate level explores  the basic principals of the form, including footwork, handwork, spins and compositions. Theory includes learning the vocabulary of the form, getting to grips with speaking and writing the bols and understanding the rhythmic time cycles.
 
Bollywood dance - We teach routines to old and new film music. All dances are choreographed using classical and folk as its base forms as appose to western dance.  It is a much deeper and intricate form of dance mainly exploring Kathak as it's base form. Dancers must be reasonabally well trained to explore this style.

Performance training - exploring principles of stage performance and dramatic elements such as spatial awareness, facial expressions, interaction with the audience etc...Minimum 1 year - next course starts from September 09.
 
Choreography - exploring core principles of choreography such as time and space. Practical and analytical approaches to choreographing for stage. Minimum 1 year - next course starts from September 09. (Most dancers do performance and choreography course simultaneously).
 
We also offer teacher training courses for dancers who are looking to pursue a career in dance.
Most of these courses are accessiable to everyone although the last three (performance, choreography and teacher training) are only open to advanced dancers.
